There is a lack of understanding for our current situation with the Coronavirus (COVID-19). With this lack of understanding we are experiencing panic and fear. In an effort to bring understanding to what the coronavirus is, how we get it, and provide empowerment on what we can do to keep our immune systems strong read below and please share this information with friends and family.
What is the Coronavirus? The coronavirus is a family of viruses that can be mild like the common cold or more severe causing MERS, SARS and pneumonia. Although coronavirus is common, and I have cases of them every year in my office, the coronavirus COVID-19 is a mutated strain that attaches to the lungs. The COVID-19 strain looks like tennis balls that has spikes on it so it easily attaches to the lung tissue. By attaching to the lung tissue, it replicates itself and at the same time kills the lungs tissue cells according to Dr. Peter Lin. Because of this it causes respiratory issues. How do viruses like the COVID-19 strain spread? Since this virus does not have feet or wings it reaches the target aka us with our help. Viruses tend to spread by an infected person’s bodily fluids making contact with a healthy person. These fluids can either be transmitted by air-via sneezing or coughing, or simply left behind, as when an infected person touches a doorknob after wiping their nose. What can I do to keep myself healthy and prepared? Opulent Natural Health can answer questions and provide guidance on the following supplements. Contact us by Email ([email protected]) or Phone (612-844-0753) to get more information and place an order for delivery or pick-up. 1. Vitamin D The human being has bundled and controlled all its defenses via the Vitamin D system. This means that our vital hormone vitamin D is involved in over 100,000 immune reactions. According to Dr. Petra Wiechel “In about 70% of our patients coming from Europe we detect a vitamin D deficiency. And in all patients who died of the coronavirus, a massive vitamin D deficiency was found.” Natural Sources of Vitamin D: Sunshine, Eating wild caught fish like salmon, trout, cod, tuna, herring, sardines etc., free-range eggs, mushrooms (grown outdoors) like shiitake, portobella, crimini, button, oyster, etc, beef liver Supplementation of 4,000IU-10,000IU daily can be taken (talk to your health care provider for appropriate dosage) 2. Monolaurin Monolaurin is a chemical made from lauric acid, which is found in coconut milk and breast milk. Since its main ingredient is Lauric Acid it is used for preventing and treating colds, flus, all viral infections and fatigue. Monolaurin is a staple in my office for immune support and viruses. I have hundreds of success stories using this product. When taking monolaurin start low and build up. 3. Zinc 70% of our cells contain zinc. A loss of zinc in our cells means that the intracellular immunity of our cell will decreases. This is why having appropriate levels of zinc is so important. Natural Sources of Zinc: Pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, garlic, wheat germ, chickpeas, cashews, spinach Supplementation of Zinc varies substantially so talk to your health care provider for appropriate dosage. 4. Herbs For thousands of years herbs have played a vital role in supporting our immune system. My go-to herbs for viral support are the following: Herbs for Immune/Viruses: Echinacea, Artemisia Annua, St. John’s Wort, Thuja, Licorice Herbs that support (above): Astragalus, Eleuthero, Goldenseal, Olive Leaf, Elderberry I personally keep a bottle of Echinacea on hand to take right away if I feel any symptoms of the flu. 5. L-Lysine L-Lysine is an essential amino acid and is particularly important for the immune system as it has a crucial role in developing antibodies. In addition, it has important antiviral properties and has been found to reduce anxiety. Natural Sources of L-Lysine: Beans, cheese, yogurt, meat, milk, brewer’s yeast, wheat germ, and animal proteins Start with natural food sources and take supplementation if you become sick as it should not be supplemented continuously. 6. Coping with Anxiety Stay Positive! When we are under constant stress, whether emotional, mental, spiritual or physical, we send out the same white blood cells as if there was a current infection. As these white blood cells go on patrol to find said infection it leaves a trail of inflammation behind which can lower immunity. It’s important stay positive for yourself and additionally while supporting your friends, family and neighbors. We can look at this as a growth opportunity to spend quality time with our family, re-prioritize what’s truly important in our life, establish empowerment of our own health and reconnect with our inner self. Ways to release anxiety: Exercising (20 minutes or more), turn off the news, go for a walk outside, meditate, use essential oils, drink peppermint and green tea. Weighted Shawl: I personally use a weighted shawl when I get anxious and my mind is overly active. The weighted shawl is portable and easier to take on and off than a weighted blanket. Our office offers 6, 9 and 12 lb. weighted shawls. For over 10 years, supporting my clients on their journey to improved health through natural means has been my #1 focus. I’m here to support anyone who has questions, support my clients, and my client’s friends and families. Opulent Natural Health will be open per its regular hours seeing clients and fielding your questions. We are taking extra precaution by cleaning before and after every person that comes into our office. As a courtesy, if you have a fever, are coughing or are currently sick please notify us as we can schedule remote appointments and can mail your supplements anywhere in the country.
